The Albion College
Astronomical Observatory was built in 1883 through the
efforts of Professor Samuel Dickie, who later became the
10th president of Albion College. Still housed in the
observatory is one of the oldest actively-used telescopes
in the country, the original Alvan Clark & Sons
eight-inch refractor telescope.
