First erected in 1852, North Hall has burned a number of
times. Rebuilt after each fire, North Hall underwent
extensive renovations in 1949. At that time the interior's
three floors were razed so four floors could take their
place. A wing was also added on the east-end featuring a
lecture auditorium. North Hall was remodeled once again in
1993 and renamed after former Albion College president Dr.
Melvin Vulgamore.
