Editor's note- In 1917 the Student Army Training Corps (S.A.T.C.) was formed to prepare college students for possible military service. Several of Albion's buildings were turned into an army military base. Epworth Laboratory was the headquarters; while North Hall (shown) and the Sigma Chi house were turned into barracks. Robinson Hall was the camp infirmary which saw unexpected use when the Spanish flu (The Great Influenza Pandemic) struck in October of 1918. Over 100 of the 250 S.A.T.C. members were afflicted by the flu and treated at Robinson Hall.
