With its beginnings as a local secret society called the Impromptu Speaking Club, Alpha Pi chapter of Sigma Chi chapter was installed at Albion on June 21, 1886. The house shown here was built in 1889 and was located at 1100 E. Cass Street. It was the first fraternity house erected specifically to house fraternity members at Albion. During WWII the house was called the Interfraternity and Independent Hall.
