In 1887 the
local literary society Sigma Theta voted to become Pi
Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta and continued as such for 21
years. In 1908 their charter was revoked due to decreasing
enrollment and breaking rules; some members were caught
dancing. The undergraduate chapter did not have members
until re-establishment in 1955. In the 1960s the original
Theta lodge burned. Today's lodge was purchased from Delta
Zeta sorority after that chapter closed at Albion.
