The first sorority to build their own lodge, Beta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was installed at Albion on May 30, 1887, by five women. Their first meetings were held on the third story of the old Central Building, now Robinson Hall. The original Alpha Chi Omega house was on Hannah Street and was built in 1895 on the southwest point of the "Grove Triangle”. The Alpha Chi's had the first sorority lodge on Albion's campus.
