Founded
in 1967 by women from Albion's former Zeta Tau Alpha
sorority. This local sorority came into being because the
active membership demanded that their (Zeta Tau Alpha)
national sorority's bi-laws be rewritten to end any
reference to discrimination. When the national sorority did
not make the requested changes, the active members and
Albion College's administration terminated its ties with
the ZTA national organization and the some of the
undergraduates formed Pi Alpha Epsilon.
