Did you know?

After World War I, continued attacks on Albion’s traditional school colors resulted in a change. In the early days, students had informally selected pink & green as the colors, and this combination became a fixture despite growing opposition.
In January 1916, star athlete Joseph Baldwin issued a scathing denunciation of the colors, terming pink and green “weak and insipid” and ‘wishy-washy and not at all tasteful.”
On May 9, 1919, after many suggestions, the students overwhelmingly voted for purple & gold as the official colors.
