The Maelstrom
Volume I. Number 1.
Early October Number
"The Maelstrom was a publication from 1924 by student Laurence Albert Smale, of which only one issue appears to exist. Its content was considered so controversial by the administration that Smale was dismissed from the college. Such content included commentary on the "mob instinct" of fraternities and the lack of intelligence of then President Seaton. The Maelstrom also included information on the means by which students could take financial advantage of homosexuals, in addition to a scathing review of In His Image by William Jennings Bryant."
